Our practise of building our Tribes sprung into full gear on Day 2 as we interviewed new friends and introduced them to the rest of the class.
In Math we did an arithmetic diagnostic assignment to figure out what we remember from grade 5. We also began a writing piece to explain what we’re looking forward to in grade 6.
What is Attentive Listening? was the main topic of discussion. Listening actually takes work and is an active process. We brainstormed what Attentive Listening Looks Like, Sounds Like and Feels Like.
We then examined a foreign symbol for Listening that carries the meaning to the reader that listening involves not only our ears but our eyes, heart and our whole selves in order to give undivided attention.
Now comes the difficult task, to put it into practise!
